Julianna Starling graduated from Fleming College in Peterborough, Ontario with a degree in Health Information Management. She was born in Romania in 1990, and immigrated to Canada in 1991, where she lived the first part of her life. She then immigrated to the USA in 2010 to marry her husband. She is a full-time accountant, a volunteer in her community and runs her own commercial dog kennel and dog training company. She has two children who were her motivation for telling her personal story.

As you read, you will join her through her real-life journey across three countries, three citizenships, three legal names and two continents. Born into poverty and during the fall of communism in Romania, Julianna, by fate and choice has defied the odds and has prospered in America living the American dream.

This autobiography is an eye opener to the hardships and struggles of those who lived in communism. But it’s more than just that. She works through finding acceptance in being adopted and struggling through understanding who she is in this world. Her life experiences are full of hurt, confusion, uncertainty but also so full of warmth, love, and care. A gut-wrenching story – joy and sorrow interwoven.
